I’m Jared Bailey, a certified Holistic Chef and the founder of Good & Friendly Kitchen. In June 2020, I became allergic to gluten and dairy (a dietary double whammy!) what felt like overnight. My new dietary restrictions disrupted WAY more than just breakfast, lunch and dinner. They disrupted my entire way of living! Suddenly, I no longer knew how to cook in a way that satisfied my love of delicious food AND supported this new diet. Going to dinner parties was basically impossible. And when eating out, there was often only one thing on the menu I could order safely (if anything at all.) It sounds trivial at first, but with those big changes l also lost many traditions and ways of celebrating and communing around food with family and friends.

"Necessity is the mother of all invention," they say. That's true! But, I was also just really hungry. I deeply missed the foods that used to bring me comfort and happiness. So, I followed that craving to holistic culinary school—which led me to create Good & Friendly Kitchen.
My hope is that Good & Friendly Kitchen becomes a go-to culinary resource—not just for those navigating food allergies or sensitivities, but for anyone who wants to create a more inclusive kitchen where everyone can eat, celebrate, and belong.
